Community Immersion Preparation Course

The 14-day (45 hour) community immersion preparation course provides Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification, "Stop the Bleed" first aid training, beginning knowledge in Disaster Preparedness, a patient engagement simulation, and direct hands-on care that enables you to actively contribute to the community in the event of a disaster.

The course emphasizes the importance of cultural competence, empathy, and ethical decision-making when engaging with diverse communities. The experience provides students with a guided opportunity to observe, learn from, and actively contribute to the community.
