Tulane Nursing welcomes Mary Mayville, Director of Curriculum & Academic Affairs
Mary Mayville, DNP, RN, CNE is the new Director of Curriculum and Academic Affairs for the Tulane University Program of Nursing. She received her BSN from San Diego State University, her MS in Nursing Administration from Marymount University, Virginia, and her DNP from Northeastern University in Boston. Dr. Mayville also holds the rank of Lt Colonel in the US Air Force Nurse Corps and retired after 24 years of active and reserve service.
Dr. Mayville has held leadership positions throughout her career from hospital administration to managing a military flight to running a program for 400 nursing students to state law-making when she was elected to serve in the New Hampshire House of Representatives from 2020 to 2022. She has worked with ranking military officers, nonprofit and for-profit agencies, correctional facility administrators, and business owners and is excited to bring her collaborative skill set to the NOLA community. She is an expert and award-winning nurse educator who was selected as a National League of Nursing Health Information Technology Scholar and has received multiple teaching awards in her career.
She brings her leadership and expertise as an innovative educator to Tulane where she is creating an engaging, hybrid-learning model that weaves interprofessional education, multi-modal simulation, and immersive community-based clinical experiences into the nursing program.
