Tulane Nursing Program Earns CCNE Accreditation

We are proud to announce that the Tulane University School of Medicine baccalaureate degree program in nursing has been granted accreditation by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). CCNE accreditation is a distinguished recognition that our program meets rigorous national standards, affirms our commitment to excellence, and reflects the dedication of our leadership, communities of interest, faculty, staff, and students to advancing quality nursing education and practice.

“We could not be more pleased with this achievement that validates the high standards for quality programs for which Tulane is known. Our gratitude goes to so many people who helped make this achievement possible. We are looking forward to Tulane-educated RNs making a difference in the lives of patients, families, and communities.”

Dr. Brenda Douglas, Dean of the Program of Nursing

Accreditation provides increased opportunities for students, including access to expanded clinical placements and preparation to step confidently into today’s fast-paced healthcare workforce. It also strengthens Tulane’s position as a growing center for nursing education in the region at a time when the demand for nurses remains high across Louisiana and the nation.

A key strength of the program is the supportive learning environment created by its faculty, who are experienced nurse educators and clinicians who bring real-world experience directly to students through mentorships, hands-on clinical learning, and individualized guidance. This intentional approach ensures that our graduates are academically strongly prepared, professionally confident, and grounded in compassionate patient-centered care.

This milestone marks an exciting moment for Tulane as the university continues to expand its nursing program, deepen relationships with healthcare partners, and contribute to improving health outcomes in communities across Louisiana and beyond.
