Biography
Dr. Anita Althans, EdD, RNC-OB is an Assistant Professor with Tulane University in the School of Medicine’s Program of Nursing. She has multiple decades of experience both in clinical and academic nursing practice. She was previously an Associate Professor of Nursing at the University of Holy Cross as a course lead working with entering sophomore students, Obstetric Junior level students and graduating seniors. Dr. Althans holds a Masters degree in Maternal Child Health from the University of Texas Health Science in San Antonio, and an EdD in Education, specializing in Executive Leadership. Dr. Althans has served as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Labor and Delivery at Woman’s Hospital. She has also served on the Board of the local chapter of Sigma Theta Tau National Honor Society, and currently is a co-chair of the New Orleans chapter of the Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses. Dr. Althans has also had the distinct honor of being named one of the Great 100 Nurses in Louisiana.
