The SoPA Track is available to students seeking a first or second bachelor's degree through the School of Professional Advancement. It welcomes applicants from a range of academic backgrounds, including those with prior college coursework, an associate degree, or a completed bachelor's degree. Applicants to the SoPA Track are evaluated holistically, with emphasis on academic excellence, diverse experiences, and a demonstrated commitment to the nursing profession.
Eligibility Overview
The program recognizes the prior academic work of applicants and transfers course credit where SoPA or nursing prerequisite course equivalency has been established. Students may transfer up to 60 credit hours that fulfills University SoPA core curriculum requirements, writing across the discipline, and nursing major requirements. All applicants must meet the following criteria:

Nursing Major Prerequisite Courses
A cumulative GPA of 3.0 is required across the following prerequisite courses, with a minimum grade of C in each. All courses must be completed within 10 years of application. There is no time limit for coursework that satisfies the SoPA core curriculum requirements. Prerequisites may be repeated once; a grade of C- or below in any prerequisite course twice results in ineligibility for admission.

Degree Requirements
As part of their undergraduate education at SoPA, students must demonstrate proficiency in writing, quantitative reasoning, and a foreign language or global perspectives. Students must also show distribution of knowledge by completing coursework in humanities, social sciences, and science. Additional core requirements of the bachelor’s degree at SoPA include coursework in American government, oral communication, and race and inclusion. The proficiency, distribution, and supplemental undergraduate degree requirements are known as the SoPA Core Curriculum.
