Biography
Dr. Monica L. Johnson, DNP, RN, CMSRN, ONC is a distinguished nurse educator and clinician joining Tulane University’s faculty, bringing over two decades of experience in academic and clinical nursing practice. She previously served as an Associate Professor of Nursing at the University of Holy Cross, where she led undergraduate courses in medical-surgical nursing, leadership, and evidence-based practice, while contributing to curriculum development and accreditation initiatives. Dr. Johnson holds a Doctor of Nursing Practice from Loyola University New Orleans, along with master’s degrees in nursing and healthcare management, and maintains multiple specialty certifications in medical-surgical and orthopedic nursing. Her professional background includes roles in clinical education, staff development, and nursing leadership within major healthcare systems, as well as national service through professional nursing organizations. Recognized for her excellence in teaching and mentorship, Dr. Johnson has received numerous honors, including statewide nursing awards, reflecting her commitment to advancing nursing education and patient care.
