
Biography
Dr. Kesha Becnel is a Tulane Department of Nursing faculty member. She received her Bachelor of Science from Nicholls State University and her Master of Nursing from the University of Texas at Tyler. She completed her Doctor of Nursing Education from Teachers College at Columbia University in 2022.
Dr. Becnel has over a decade of experience in nursing education, having taught at the associate, baccalaureate, and graduate levels of nursing education. Her scholarly work includes the impact of active-learning strategies on the development of clinical judgment in undergraduate nursing students, as well as the use of virtual reality in nursing education. She has presented her research at national conferences and has authored a peer-reviewed article on the use of classroom simulation-guided case studies to enhance clinical judgment. Her expertise in nursing education, pedagogy, and educational innovation continues to shape her contributions to nursing education research.
